Allpoint® ATM Network

1. What is the Allpoint Network?

   Allpoint is a network of over 55,000 ATMs through which German American Bank customers get fee-free (also known as surcharge-free) access to their accounts. Look for the Allpoint symbol on the ATM at your favorite retail locations.

2. What is an ATM surcharge fee?

   Commonly referred to as a surcharge, this is the fee the owner of the ATM machine assesses to all "foreign" cardholders (i.e., someone that is not a cardholder of the institution owning the ATM). Surcharges vary based on location - charges are typically between $2.00 and $3.50.

3. How can I sign up for Allpoint access?

   Access to the Allpoint ATM network is automatic for German American Bank. You can use your existing German American Bank Check Card at any ATM that has the Allpoint network symbol.

4. Where are Allpoint ATMs located?

   Allpoint's 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs are located in local, regional and national retailers across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Australia and the United Kingdom. This includes merchants such as CVS/pharmacy, Kroger, Target, Walgreens, Winn-Dixie and many others. Use the ATM locator to find the Allpoint ATM closest to you.

5. How can I be sure that the ATM I’m using is an Allpoint ATM?

   Simply use our ATM locator to find Allpoint ATMs. All ATMs listed on our official Allpoint ATM locator are surcharge-free for Allpoint cardholders to use.

6. How does your ATM locator work?

   It's easy! Simply type in your zip code or city/state and the locator will list the address of all Allpoint ATMs within 10 miles of the desired location (up to a maximum of 30 locations).

7. How often is the location data on the ATM Locator updated?

   The ATM data used in the Allpoint locator is updated every two weeks to reflect any changes to our network locations.

8. I used an Allpoint ATM and the message screen said I would be assessed a surcharge for the transaction I was attempting. Will I be charged? Why does this happen?

   No, you will not be charged. Due to the technical limitations of certain types of ATMs, Allpoint is currently not able to prevent the “surcharge warning message” screen from appearing on some ATMs. The verification of Allpoint participation happens while the transaction is processing rather than before, so the surcharge fee page will show up prior to the transaction being completed. You should continue the transaction by answering “yes” on this screen. When you get your receipt, you’ll see that you were not assessed a surcharge (i.e. the withdrawal amount on your receipt will show $20, $40, $60, etc., as opposed to $22.50, $42.50, $62.50, etc. shown when you pay a surcharge). If you believe you received a surcharge in error, please contact the German American Bank Customer Care Center at (800)482-1314.

9. Are there any limitations to how many times I can use an Allpoint ATM or the amount of cash I can withdraw at a time?

   German American Bank customers have access to an unlimited number of surcharge-free transactions at Allpoint ATMs. Each Allpoint location varies, but most will allow you to withdraw between $200 and $400 in a single transaction. However, there may be limitations on how much cash you can withdraw daily.

10. Can I still use ATMs that are not German American ATMs and not part of the Allpoint Network?

    Yes. Your Check Card and/or ATM Card will continue to work at all ATMs. Out of network ATMs (ones that are neither German American nor Allpoint) may assess you a surcharge fee. In addition, you may be assessed a foreign ATM fee from German American.
