Stay up-to-date on the latest news and happenings at German American.

Becky Shelton, Financial Center Manager with German American Bank in Owensboro, has graduated from the 2019-2020 Leadership Owensboro program. Each year’s class of business and educational leaders is selected through an application process. This 10-month program is focused on educating and engaging individuals to reach their potential and maximize their impact in the community.

Each Leadership Owensboro class chooses a community issue on which to base their project. Becky’s class chose the 2020 Census as their focus and aimed to increase participation through education, accessibility, and outreach with the added challenge of finding alternative ways of communication through the COVID-19 pandemic.  Becky and her classmates are being recognized for their accomplishments in a small ceremony and celebration sponsored by German American Bank.

“Becky sets a great example as an active volunteer in the Owensboro community and our German American team is proud of her drive to keep doing more. Her graduation from the Leadership Owensboro program exemplifies her commitment not only to her community but also to her own personal and professional growth,” states Krista Niehaus, German American Regional Senior Vice President of Retail Banking.

Becky has been in the banking and finance industry for over 25 years. She is passionate about supporting the youth in her community, specifically in the area of financial education.  She is an active member and has served various leadership roles in the Junior Achievement program Becky and her husband Charlie reside in Owensboro with their son, Owen.
